Our Story

Hello!
We are so happy you are here! I'm Ree, and will be telling you how our Soapery got started. If you're wondering where our name came from it's a combination of my nick name, Ree and my daughter's nick name Rosie, after our late grandmother. Rosie Ree's Soapery just sounded beautiful to us. Please stick around and enjoy our story. Thank you!
Rosie Ree’s Soapery is a small Veteran owned family operated business. We handcraft luxurious bath and skin care products in small batches.
Upon returning home in 2016 from an overseas tour, I decided it was my time to leave the military and take care of my family. Once out, I was able to spend some much needed time with my kids and husband. We settled down in a little tiny town in the mountains. As the summer was nearing its end and the kids returning back to school, I had tons of time on my hands. I was going stir crazy, I mean we can only clean and do laundry so much, right?
Looking for a hobby to pick up, I came across a video of a lady making cold process soap. The video was so fascinating and fun, I couldn't stop watching her. The whole process of making soap is amazing, it’s such a beautiful form of art and creativity. After many months of research it was time for me to give this soap making thing a shot. I placed my first order of soap supplies and started stalking my UPS guy the minute I hit the submit button. Ok, not really the minute, I waited a few days at least. When the package finally arrived, I was so excited. I got started making soap right away in my tiny kitchen, at my tiny dining room table. First I experimented with Melt and Pour soap, which is a solid block of soap that has already been mixed and cured. You get to cut it into chunks, melt it, add your skin safe colorants and fragrances oils and pour into soap molds. You let that cool and set up before popping out and have a bar of soap all ready to use. Melt and pour is a lot of fun, but you are limited on some designs you can do. I wanted more, so I decided to take the plunge and make cold process soap. Oh it was so much fun, all the swirls, textures, and designs you can do are endless. Cold process allows you to create recipes using food grade oils and skin loving ingredients. It’s creating soap from scratch, and I fell in love with making soap. It had become more than a hobby, it became a passion. After two years of experimenting and learning everything I could, it was time for me to share my talent and work with the world. I was already making soap for friends and family who encouraged me to open my own soapery. So I thought to myself, why the heck not? I wanted to create non toxic, clean products at an affordable price for everyone.
Since starting two years ago in my tiny kitchen, we have moved 1800 miles away and became proud home owners where I have a full blown operational soap studio dedicated to making luxurious products. Our oldest has graduated and our twins are almost done with school as well. They all help out with our business, doing anything from picking out fragrances and colorants to shipping packages. They really are a big help.
I have many goals and plans for Rosie Ree's. First I would love for my husband to be able to quit his 9 to 5 job and work the family business. Second, I would love to grow large enough so we can provide jobs for others.
Well if you've made it all the way down here I want to thank you for taking the time to read our story. Without all of our wonderful customers none of this would have been possible.  Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts.
